Machiavelli #4

13) Dont perpetuate a problem to escape a war. In the end, you wont be able to avoid it, and you will lose the war, since the problem you have will have worn you out.

14) If you help someone rise to power, you have made yourself a suspect to him before everyone else has.

15) A governance with a strong leader at its heart, is very difficult to be questioned.  Ιt can catalyze easily though, as long as the leader mobilises and his entourage is perished.

16) A system of governance with many centers of authority can easily be questioned, because some of these centers will always be ready to be sold out. It is difficult however to catalyze because other existing centers will remain loyal, and the people will not follow them.

17) Capable archers know that to hit their goal, they need to aim higher than their target.

18) To become a leader you must possess either skill or luck.
